MISSION OVERVIEW

Power Restoration & Base Camp Operations

Beachview managed end-to-end logistics, starting at our Georgia headquarters where all base camp equipment was prepared and transported to the Port of Jacksonville. From there, we handled maritime shipping, cleared customs, and retrieved assets upon arrival in Puerto Rico. Our team then safely delivered the assets to four remote base camp location—Aguadilla, Ponce, Arecibo, and Caguas—despite widespread road damage and infrastructure failure.

Each site was fully constructed, staffed, managed, and ultimately demobilized by Beachview. Over 1100 personnel were housed and supported in total across the eight-month operation

Hurricane Maria Response- Puerto Rico
Expanded Mission

Traffic Control & Damage Assessment

As operations scaled, Beachview was tasked with supporting USACE’s traffic control program to protect crews restoring Puerto Rico’s power grid. We mobilized over 380 full-time traffic controllers across the island, ensuring safe passage for linemen and equipment in high-risk environments. Beachview also deployed a 140-member team of trained damage assessors who partnered with federal and local agencies to evaluate storm impacts, prioritize restoration efforts, and document infrastructure damage in both rural and urban areas. At peak, Beachview maintained nearly 600 full-time personnel in Puerto Rico across base camp operations, traffic control, and damage assessment—demonstrating our ability to scale rapidly and meet complex demands in disaster environments.
